Refund skins

    I personally think there should be a refund system in the game.
    Or when you're about to buy something to you're ship there should be an example of it. But theres not!

    A few days ago I bought a skin to my ship called "Kraken Hull Livery". I think it looked great but when I bought it and put it on I was very disappointed. I regret it so much and wish there was a refund system.

    But now the idea:

    If SoT dont want to add the refund system they should in my opinion put an example of the item you want to buy on you're ship. A small little picture where you can move the whole ship around 360°.

    And if they like the item they buy it simple is that.

    But if they add the refund system and you regret buying a skin ship for example you should loose 5-10k. Lets say you bought a ship skin for 49,000 coins and you refund it you lost 9k in total.

    In my opinion they should add both ideas.

    I think the preview system is a good idea and what they should do, similar to how it works when buying clothes. However, I understand that it's not as simple as there are multiple ship sizes and cosmetics look different on each. Using the model of your current boat would probably be good enough.

    I like the idea a lot, because I have some things that I bought that I now don't like or wear anymore, and I do want partial of my money back from buying ship cosmetics, weaponry and clothing. Let's hope they see this and respond to it.

    @plebochino It's a shame that you don't like the Kraken Hull, the figurehead for that set is awesome (the hull isn't the best admittedly). You get gold in the game so easily these days though that you will make back that amount pretty quickly. While I wouldn't oppose a preview screen for ship cosmetics, I would prefer the developers spend the time which it would take to implement that system to instead continue their excellent work on adding additional features to the game - I want the developers to spend all available time to bring in pets (for purchase through microtransactions) as I really need a cat, parrot, and monkey for my sloop (maybe even a pet shark to circle and protect my ship from boarders).

    I really like the idea of being able to sell things back to the merchants for maybe a reduced price, it sounds like an ideal thing to use the seapost merchants for?

    When I first saw them in the patch notes I was thinking that could be a possibility. I think they should be able to buy things like crates of wood or bananas you find for more than the usual random non-voyage price and also maybe they buy CCB's because they're obviously into risky business ventures!

    @plebochino I'm not so much interested in refundability as I am in the ability to preview it on the various ship types. The colors are difficult to judge by the existing image. In fact, I wish everything had a "fitting room" window like you get when you change your clothes. I want to see how things look on me and on my ship.

    I think this is a great idea and is needed. Last night I bought one of the 150K boats, thinking it would look good with the overachiever sails, and the boat was hideous compared to the preview. The colors were not the same at all. Instead of a yellow/brown look, the boat was more mustard-bright yellow and not even sure what the other color was. My first mate actually told me to remove that boat immediately when she saw it. So disappointed.

    I know that feel, i also bought something that it didn't turned out to look the way i thought it will, think it was the hunter hull, which in the picture looks black with white lines, but when i put it on the ship it looked more of a dark grey. Anyway i settled with shark hunter hull because its just completely dark.

    Anyone noticed, the little wooden ship in the captains cabin of galleons, right? Here's the thing, why not give it a purpose, like you said we could use that little model to select and preview every hull paint. Even better if you could equip the one we have on the galleon, without going to an outpost to change, sails, hulls, figureheads, etc. Something like in AC:Black Flag, inside the captains cabin, the small ship on the table which lets you customize and upgrade your ship.

    @nofears-fun You bought the Scurvy Bilge Rat hull? :)) When i got my sails, couldn't decide if this one or the grand admiral would look better with those sails but i got the bilge rats and i'm satisfied. I know portion of the paint has yellow mustard like color combined with a light brown, but tbh the hull contains the same color the sail has, so they don't mismatch that much.

    @biostructr I already had the grand admiral so we switched to that one and it was ok, but not as good as the other one should have been. But if you look at the other one at the shop, it really does look like it should be perfect for the new sails. Sadly it looks nothing like the tile in the shop.
