I don’t know if anyone knows but when skull & bones gets released it’s gonna be a competition with SOT and S & B. Does anyone think we can beat skull & bones.
Sea of thieves vs Skull & bones
If it gets released. It may be abandoned just like many other similar games: Great trailer, disappointing gameplay in comparison, and abandoned by its developers.
Mmmm... Skull & Bones ( I'm a Pirate Ship ) or SoT ( I'm a Pirate )
Think I know which one I am. :)@xx-elite-kb They're pretty different from what I have seen. S&B is all naval warfare. SoT is a pirate themed adventure.
@xx-elite-kb They are two completely different games, the only thing they have in common is pirate themes but it stops at that. I don't think it will be much competition and if you ask me it looks like a terrible game.
They have two really different gameplay, they only share the same pirate theme. It would depend rather on what you are looking for in a pirate game: Skull & Bones seems to be confined mostly to ships combat, while Sea of Thieves would be closer to a full first-person experience of a pirate's life in Rare's own universe.
To me, with its sandbox, Sea of Thieves offers more freedom in making stories with other players which is not really the same goal if you're looking in a game like Skull & Bones.
Skul & Bones will probably get a lot of exposure when it will be out but it's on the long term we'll see how it goes!
OP I think your style of posting fits Reddit more than it fits this forum.
Sea of Thieves is a game where you and your crew work together to be the Pirate you want to be.
Skull and Bones is a game made with assassin creed nostalgia. Everyone loved assassin creed ship combat when they first tried it and honestly its still fun. However both games are completely different.
Skull and Bones is more ship combat. You are the ship not an individual player. Also with all the options towards combat you are going to have major balance and meta issues. Which means as the game goes on people will play the over powered option.
Sea of Thieves you play as a pirate with a crew of pirates controlling your ship. The game is balanced really well and new players have the same capabilities as old players. Its completely knowledge based not level based.
I think Sea of Thieves will still come out on top.
I personally will probably get them all lol, I’ll buy atlas when it comes to console and skull and bones.
Competition is always healthy for game developers because it pushes them to add more and unique experiences.
Currently SoT has a monopoly on the pirate genre so a bit of rivalry should spice things up a bit :PThis is an easy one...i played the solo version of Skull and Bones some years ago in Assassins' Creed Black Flag. This Skull and Bones is just the same gameplay set in a multiplayer world ...i'm not breaking this game to it's foundation because i liked playing Black Flag, but Skull and Bones can never deliver the same joy and Epic Adventures that Sea of Thieves deliver every time... In Skull and Bones , you run your ship while those around you run their ship, In Sea of Thieves you are part of the crew and the cooperation between crewmembers can be easy or hard to forge , depending on the personalities of the inviduals...i think that SOT also cost alot more involvement in order to succeed but the rewards ,in all kinds of emotions that get unleashed during playing, are much higher than Skull and Bones...But that's a personal meaning ,and everybody has to judge for him/herself what SOT and Skull and Bones means for them...

Think I know which one I am. :)Exactly! Who wants to be a boat. Be more pirate!

We already did. SoT is out, Skull & Bones is not.
@xx-elite-kb
Two different game types. One is based on naval combat in which we are a ship. It's based on historical facts and our ship movement is totally unrealistic.
The other is based on adventures, social interactions in which were a pirate within a crew and we can choose if we want to fight and/or how. It's settled in a fantasy world, no historical facts but our ship movement and handling are more emersive.
just like many others, I can not see the comparaison.
It will be like compare SoT to Raft, just because they have water an sharks, an then don't look what makes them different.I will not play Skull an bones, maybe Atlas in ½-2 year, when the game is more finished.
I played ark from the beginning, but because of bad decision in pvp, I mostly played on pve an had fun building.
but will say this, skull an bones look more "finished" compare to Atlas
can't compare to SoT cause of the constant updates, that dont really break the game (maybe a little in performance) but add to the experienceThink you can can better compare SoT with Atlas, because they are both un-done.
for me personally, I think that SoT has a better foundation for updates/contentIf only sot made a special game mode with just one ship of the line..
A single warship with 2 deck of canon and 24 players spawn on this ship to sail, repair, fire canon etc. A huge crew on one awesome beast of war.
A fleet of skellyboats underway to destroy our world and we have just this battleship to stop them.
Oh after seeing the crowded skull and bones deck firing canons i can imagine what our battleship would look like with 24 real banana eating pirates giving a broadside ^^
@xx-elite-kb it's not really a competition as skull and bones is purely instance based pvp and nothing more!
Completely different game type
now if lazy devs like those responsible for atlas could actually do something and not lie through there teeth than that game could have been a competition but it can't and those devs are gutter trash and they never will
i mean they released ark on the switch and expected it to run well and sell but the game RUNS AT 240P!!!!!!!!!!!!! in 2018 release is just a joke@xx-elite-kb and I cannot wait to to have another option where I'm not getting 4v1ed and spawn camped by 12 year olds and mid 20s edgelords still living in grandmas basement whose only joy in life is being as toxic as possible from behind a screen. Ubisoft has certainly taken their time to get it right, hopefully they actually care about all player types instead of call it a "sandbox game for all player types" and then do nothing to support that statement.
@piratecraggy or at least your Disney hand fed idea of a pirate cause it gives an excuse for poor behavior to those that havnt read a history book and know otherwise
