ADD Athena quests to Messages in a bottle

    FIRST: As a solo slooper I know doing or having an Athena chest on my boat is highly risky if another ship who is greedy sees me.

    Was noticing that the opening crawl video when you launch the game has a supposed message in a bottle with an Athena quest in it. If we are to take that the Athena symbol throughout the opening video is related to Athena quests from pirate legend lore, then why don't some of the messages in a bottle have the rare chance of spawning with a message in a bottle that is glowing green on the beach that when you hit X to take it, it is a free Athena's quest with 4 instead of 8 questions before you get the Athena one. And yes the payout and XP would be halfed, but it would give Pirate legends and non-pirate legends (since they also can do Athena's before level 50) a chance to see what an end game quest is like!

    NOTE: If I ever see user's like , @Wesley-Sanguin ,who stated ". I stole 11 Athena chests to date with videos of every single steal…. But still cannot bring myself to wear the title because of how soiled it has become with all the chest traders" on the open seas. Know that I am making a beeline for the Devil's Shroud, and sinking my boat and chest into the deep red ocean. No 12th Athena for you!

    @lucky-13-x hehe Ahoy Capt’n Lucky... not sure if you are Athena level 10 yet, but I would be all too happy to put any Athena’s in a bottle and float it your way, or better yet throw one on your voyage table for ya sometime.

    May the winds be favorable for you on your journeys, and be sure to keep a look out behind those corners in port and the nooks and crannies our in Sea... there could be someone lurking ready to pounce. Yaaargh!

    i made pirate legend so i have access to it. justtrying to add to the lore, the community participation and availability of high end loot to steal for pvPers.

    I see it as de-legitimizing even more what little prestige Pirate Legends have. Being able to buy Athena voyages is all they have. Whats the point of Pirate Legend then if the only thing they can do different can be found and done by anyone else?

    Pirate Legend already is a shallow title, changes like this just cause the puddle to evaporate.

    I see your point. I am just trying to further enhance the lore the game presents in the opening crawl, the loot opportunity and the reasons people should be thieves. Desire to be REDACTED is likely gonna pull a lot of PvPers away, so was thinking of ways to keep those players engaged in REDACTED if they're not already Athena Level 10 or maxed out on Athena commendations.

    EDITED - why is this in general discussion? I thought I made this thread in that other place. Oh well. I have self edited my posts.

    @lucky-13-x Most players are not 100% PvP or PvE. Players who head to Arena will not abandon Adventure mode. Either way, giving away voyages intended to a benefit of having a PL on the crew would lead to a number of issues.

    Messages in bottles/barrels always come as a single page. You can pretend that someone's voyage was lost or discarded and the pages were separated. Maybe stashed in barrels or hidden in bottles. You find that single page of the voyage but not the entire thing. If you think of it this way, you could very well be recieving pages from athena missions. You find a message that is four captains on an island and it could very well be part of the first chapter of an athena. If you want to explain the fact that you never find the second chapter with the legend chest, it's because it's highly sought after by all pirates. They know the value and wouldn't discard it. Maybe Rare never considered the lore behind it but this could be a good explanation from a story perspective.

    Uh, what words exactly are you talking about? I cannot think of anything said here that I wouldn’t say in any public forum.

    EDIT: Just noticed you went back and edited your posts. You do realize Arena was publicly announced months ago right? The Rare team has also talked openly about Arena and Adventure in interviews and released a number of details in promo videos (which is how I know about them)...
