Shores Of gold Curse Re-Design

    Dear Rare Devs,

    I heard that the Devs at Rare are planning on changing the Gold Hoarder curse, and making it so it looks the same on every Pirate. I am begging you to hear me out and not to. I understand that some people are not pleased with the way it looks on their pirate and some people "want more gold or less gold" on their pirate, but a lot of the people that I talked to that have earned the curse already are REALLY pleased with the way it looks. (myself included.)
    If you look at the gold hoarders in the game at the outposts, they all have different looking curses. It only makes sense that would be how it functions in game.

    Might I suggest that instead of making it so it looks the same on every pirate, that instead the player has the ability to choose what it looks like on his or her pirate. This could be done by making it so that the curse changes every time you equip or un-equip the curse in the vanity chest. it would essentially give players the ability to "re-roll" until they find the style they like. So when a player finds the style of curse that they like the look of the most all the have to do is leave the curse equipped and it would just stay that way on their individual pirate until they un-equip the curse.
    By doing this the curse still retains its individuality, and allows us to feel like the cosmetic and reward is unique to our own pirate.

    @justsaiyen93 just said it in two other threads...make it, that the more gold you own, the more gold is on your body...so if you have, let's say 5 million or so, you look like a living gold statue

    Edit: @Kat-Truewalkerr can we have a mega-thread about that, so this idea doesn't disappear in the depths of the internet without Rare seeing it, please?

    @schwammlgott That’s a pretty good idea, but it would only really benefit Legends, as casual players always need to constantly spend their gold on new items.

    Not when you make it in the beginning in 10k steps...every 10k a bit more gold on your body, once you reach...lets say 500k it goes in 50k or 100k steps up to 5 million or so...

    @zaannox and by the way...you get that curse when you finished all tale chapters 5 times...so until then, everyone should have already a bit of money and cosmetics anyway

    no matter what they do, they should keep it individual, i dont want mine to change to a generous pattern for everyone :-
    i got 2 golden thumbs and a golden middlefinger, goldeneye and some slices - no way you take that away Rare :D

    @chronodusk I think they should figure out a way to keep it’s uniqueness. This is a tough situation to handle; even I’m stumped as to how to properly handle this.

    Giving us the option of rotating the look by equipping the curse on or off, would give people many different unique looks and also allow the people happy with their look to leave it alone, such as myself.

    Maybe allow rerolls. This shouldn't be every time you equip it like some people say, but there should be a way to reroll the curse.

    Another solution would be that if it doesn't cover a certain area, it adds more.

    Maybe we can reroll the curse for a fair amount of gold? 5k seems fair since it’s half of what you make on the last tale.

    @blazedrake100 I don’t think it should be every time you equip it either; cause some people might really like one curse; but they’ll turn it off cause maybe they want to try something different. Doesn’t mean they don’t want that same curse back!

    I hope they dont change it. I personally love my curse & everyones being unique is also a good thing. They could just add all the gold curses like tattoos & you just wear the one you want.

    I understand, I do.

    I think the proper way to handle this is for them to prioritize making sure everyone can get the manually crafted intended design to even out the "quality to time investment" base-line for all players first. That's probably the most important thing for now.

    Then they should move on to looking at allowing players to chose between the NPC allocated curse patterns that many people did enjoy. As a way to expand on the curse to allow for the uniqueness that people liked.
