In the loading screen, the picture where pirates are fishing on shark bait cove it says in the text: (in german) "Bait is obtainable from seaposts, so you get rarer fish"
Why isn't this in the game, or is it just wrong translated?
Bait at seaposts?
I always found baits at seaposts.
Except someone else was there just before i came along and set sail when i aproach.I think it would be bad if you can buy them somewhere, because people wouldn't move that much anymore, buy, fish, buy, fish all time.
Seaposts would become the first thing i want to check if i were out for PvP and loot some fish others catched and turn it in right away.
just my opinion.

Shipwrecks have just as much bait as seaposts, and the bait within is more likely to be missed since it's always found in the generic unmarked barrels on board. Plus, once you're at a shipwreck, you can use those earthworms to get some wreckers :)

The barrels on shipwrecks are really worth checking out now. We've gotten lots of fish out of them, not just bait - sometimes really good ones, and often pre-cooked!

Or is it just a wrong translation?It's in the picture of the loading screen, where the pirates are fishing at Shark Bait Cove...is one of you english? So look what stands there in your version...I think it's just a translation fault...but if not, why isn't that in the game?

when have we germans not have wrong translation with anything?Just think of the "translation" for the Tale 8 thing
Or, the Textboxes on each Tales where you cant even read the Text because the translation is badI was also dissapointed it stands there it you cant buy bait

Ah, I think I see the confusion - in your first post you used the word ‘obtainable’, which doesn’t necessarily mean buyable. I will double-check what that screen says in the English version in a little while!
@arsigi like it's said in that screen it means also, you always find it at seaposts...but that's completely rng...often had no bait at all at seaposts...
@schwammlgott i havent had that specific loading screen in a while but im sure it said nothing about buying or specific availabillity of bait
In English the screen says,
"Different breeds of fish can be found all over the Sea of Thieves. Varieties of bait can be found at Seaposts and can be used to catch the rarer prizes."Nothing about buying the little wurms, but not exactly correct as bait can be found everywhere and I'm not sure if I've found always bait on a sea post.
