As in any pirate game, I believe that being able to repair your ship is essential. I do not want to look down at my wheel while I’m sailing and see a bunch of wooden sticks instead of silver spokes. The same goes for the anchor. Seeing holes in the bottom of the ship is a bit bothersome as well, and cracks in your sail aren’t all that appealing either. I definitely feel like, if you’ve already used boards to repair key parts of your ship, you should be able to buy a fix for looks. Going to a seapost or outpost to buy a visual fix for a certain amount of coin, while maybe not significantly improving gameplay performance, would help a lot visually. Especially after coming to port after a long day of sailing and many battles fought, having the same ship with a few cosmetic upgrades would feel good, and you would be able to continue sailing with the same, but brand new ship. The fixes wouldn’t have to cost much, but could cost a few hundred or thousand depending on what the developers/players want. After long voyages gaining tens of thousands coins of loot, spending a few hundred or thousand wouldn’t hurt much. Especially if everything in the game is already purchased, it would be a way to casually spend some money. The alternative is getting a new ship by breaking yours. But then you would have to spawn at a different island with a technical different ship. And although it would have the same design, the potential emotional connection would be broken. And again, the ship should be pre-repaired with boards. This would prevent people healing their ships at outposts with coins when in battle or being chased. Anyways, just a thought I had when turning my ship. Thank you.
