Small suggestion for Reaper's Black Powder Runs of the East/West

  • Something I've heard from several of my friends who play (and something I've experienced myself) was confusion about having to manually put the Reaper's Mark up in order to complete the run. To avoid the confusion with newer players who are just trying the voyages for the first time, my suggestion would either be to have the voyage equip the flag automatically when it is active, or (more simply) just have a disclaimer when you buy the voyage from Duke, to the effect of "WARNING: completion of the Reaper's Black Powder Run of the East/West will only count towards commendations if the Reaper's Mark is equipped manually before embarking on the voyage."

It's not a big change, more just QOL, but I think it would help a lot if some kind of message were added before the Black Powder voyages rotate out, just to stop people trying to get the commendation wasting doubloons accidentally, or just not understanding the prerequisites of the voyage, especially with new players who might want to try it but don't quite know what the Reaper's Mark is.

  • @eriyoldinok I'm gonna disagree. if you dont read the info it's not the games fault.

  • @eriyoldinok
I'd say the second one is better. They also need to fix alliances breaking it, you're still on the map when you make an alliance.

  • The voyage itself can be completed without the reaper's mark, so I don't think forcing the reaper flag is a good solution. Its only the Legendary Commendations which require you to do it 3 times, and I think the commendation description says you need to have the reaper flag flying.

The only issue is trying to form an alliance dropping your other flag - this should be changed.

  • Having read the comments so far - I left the original "force-flag" method in there just because I'd already written it, but the message was more what I felt would be appropriate - I must have started the voyage then realised I didn't put the flag up first a good few times, so a simple "don't forget the flag, dingus" would go a long way, I feel.

  • @eriyoldinok I think many of us are guilty of the same mistake - I know I've done it in the past. If it's in the voyage description, then I don't think any other actions should be taken except for the alliance bit that's already been mentioned by others.

  • This is so funny because it happened to me last week. I thought my ship earned the Reaper's Mark the moment I began the voyage. I looked up at the flag and could see the mark wasn't up, but I figured my ship was still visible on everybody else's maps because of the voyage. Wasn't until I finished the voyage that I realized it didn't count towards the commendation.

I agree with the idea of automatically raising the flag for 'reaper's mark' voyages, and you cannot remove it until you cancel the voyage.
