Is the reaper chest worth getting?

    Ahoy mates yesterday I saw a reaper chest but I don't know if it's worth the risk to sell one of those chest

    @piet1piraat Go for it. If you cash it in you get some doubloons to use in Duke's store. If you get attacked and lose it, at least you had the thrill of the chase! Essentially you really have nothing to lose.

    They are quite easily obtainable. Even if they are contested, as long as you bee line it to the outpost you can sell it. Running in this game is quite easy. Hell, in my experience these chests are mostly uncontested.

    They are worth 15 doubloons selling them to Duke and I have had some of the best in-game moments, fights and chases ever going after reaper chests. It's just like capture the flag and I definately recommend you try! I don't need the doubloons but enjoy the challenge of beating other crews to them and racing to a tavern. Much more fun than rag n bone crates.

    Imho they are, but not because of the dubloons, but because of the chance they lead to player interaction/ pvp.

    Sure , they are worth it , they are not only 15 doubloons of value , i mean the Blue coins , but the way towards a chest and the way towards cashing in has lead in many occasions towards Epic Adventures...Just go for them and enjoy the Ride...

    I've done a few, but only under the following circumstances:

    • It's nearby
    • It's not too far from an outpost
    • The coast seems clear
    • I don't have any valuables on board
      Of course, if you enjoy a bit of a challenge, you can just go after them and ignore these 'rules' ;-) But if you don't want to feel like you 'wasted your time' trying to get one, then this should work.

    Well I only got 15 for the half a dozen I sold today!
    It's still 15 for now.

    usually they are, but atm only if they are near especially since you can just get doubloons from Duke's cargo runs....

    Oh ok, then i maybe have confused this with a commendation.
    I turned one on and got 25, but as i said it's possibly a commendation that i got and thought it was for the Reaper.

    If you want doubloons, then they are worth trying to get. What do you have to lose really? You get it and either you sell it or someone steals it. Either way you had a little adventure.

    I just logged on after like 2 months or so and me found a shipwreck with confetti! I dunno whats it about so me check it out and then i find this red glowing chest its awesome so i kept it in secret sailing around enjoying me special chest it says.. it says reaper! Omg i dunno i speed crasht to sanctuary and turned it in with duke i got doubloons yay :D
