PSA: Sizer causes major stuttering.

  • Not sure of the reason why, but the BrianApp's resizing utility Sizer 4.0 causes massive problems in Sea of Thieves, even when not actively in use.

It only affects mouse movement, using a controller results in no stuttering.

Closing Sizer out of the system tray immediately causes the stuttering to cease.

Changing your mouse hz can lessen the problem, but you don't even realize how bad it is until it's gone completely.

Know this will be useless to most of you, but Sizer is a relatively popular utility for resizing windows, and a fair few content creators use it to capture pixel perfect footage.

    Unsure if related to EAC.

Just figured this knowledge should be published somewhere searchable.

I don't know what you are trying to imply, but it simply resizes windows, the same way a human would, just to an exact size. Discord, Steam, NVidia, Fraps all have more intrusive hooks.

  • @honestauntyelle it's 3rd party software interacting with the game. Which is against ToS, but isn't inherently acting in bad faith.

  • Hmm, that app actually seems like it would be very useful for me. Ever since the gdk update, the in-game resolution readout has become entirely worthless, as in it doesn't change at all when playing windowed.

I don't believe it would solve that issue, as all it does is resize windows using legacy windows api's, if you have the issue with resizing manually, you'll have the issue with sizer.
