With the upcoming captaincy feature I think it would be cool to give the captain of the ship an explicit set of clothing. Every player should have a set of sailor clothes and a set of captain clothes so when he/she is selected captain they look different.
I think the captain of the ship should stick out in some way. Perhaps with the biggest hat of them all. ;)
@psk76 I believe the Captaincy update along with the Microtransactions have been put on the "Backburner" for now mate. Rare changed there roadmap to align with community feedback on content concerns. So we are not actually sure when that update will be released now. :)

I'm just worried the captaincy will be 1 step forward 2 steps back. I really how they done lock ship content to the labelled captain. My crew all bought different ship customization's and murmurs said the captain will have sole responsibility, so hew has to own anything. That to me isn't a good idea, Maybe have the captain have to approve it? But not force the captain to buy it all that's moving backwards and extremely annoying.
