Now this might just be me, but I feel it's way too difficult to get cosmetics for my skeleton curse. Especially the cosmetics that require specific alligence levels. My idea, remove the alligence level cap and replace them with commendations, for example, you could get the two-skull head for the "Tied to the wheel" commendation for defeating the mutinous helmsman 25 times. Doesn't have to be this specific commendation either, and the new obsidian skeletons cosmetics should just only have the commendations tied to them, NOT the alligence levels. Rare did a great job with the cosmetics, but it's a shame that some of them are locked behind hg. When I earned my skeleton curse, I didn't wanna earn even MORE levels than I had to after what I experienced in that mode. I love this game, truly. But I just want to see this happen in the future eventually.
Remove the alligence level tied to skeleton curse cosmetics
I do understand the argument about the Obsidian Skeleton cosmetics… canonically it would make more sense to just be tied to Commendations… but the issue is Hourglass itself. It doesn’t get very much post-100 play (though I say that as a level 164 Allegiance Servant of the Flame…) so they put more Skeleton Curse cosmetics behind Allegiance levels. I think the issue is how few Curse cosmetics there are in general. It won’t matter to much if a few are locked behind Levels, so long as there is still a good selection available for other Commendations or prices. I personally think there should be the regular Bone Skeleton cosmetics (like the bandannas, tied broken ribs, torn breeches, etc.) available from the start. Maybe there could be ways to unlock Plant, Shadow, and Gold Skeleton cosmetics too? But I’d definitely like to get some Bone Skeleton Captain cosmetics - the wide-brimmed hat and the jacket would look great, and I’d love the peg-leg and shorts combo. They could even just add more rewards for Allegiance levels. It would be easier to go further if you got a reward every 5 levels, rather than every 10 (in Levels 101-200), 15 (201-300), or 20 (301-350) like it is now. But to be honest, I do agree on the thoughts on the Obsidian Skeleton stuff… the Commendations already take a fair amount of time, and the Obsidian Skeletons aren’t that much stronger than Bones Skeletons, so it’s kinda hard to argue they’ve fought for Flameheart more. But to be honest, I don’t care too much about the Obsidian stuff (at least their requirements, the stuff is cool for sure) because these issue really comes down to a lack of cosmetics and the gameplay loop of Hourglass. If they update the mode, maybe more people would go further with their Levels.
@europa4033 Nobody is saying Rare HAS to do anything, but there is a feedback site for a reason - for players to give their honest opinions on the matter, and for Rare (hopefully) take those opinions under consideration for the future of the game. I personally understand your point, though I also feel like the number of Skeleton Curse cosmetics are too few for a whole separate customisation system. I personally tried to make a move towards more of a compromise between both sides of the argument… that’s honestly what’s best. Nobody dictating the outcome or the direction the efforts of Rare go towards, but finding a middle ground for everybody to get some of what they want (within reason, of course).
@thunderdrago205 there's a good spread of easy/unique commendation cosmetics and difficult battle focused cosmetics. This fits really well with the lore and theming. I don't agree it should be changed at all.
@fysics3037 I mean yeah, the cosmetics under level 180 isn't that bad, but I don't really wanna work over 200 hundred hg levels for some... Cosmetics.
@thunderdrago205 You don't need to have everything in the game, yet if you want to acquire pvp cosmetics you should be willing to pvp. It's a simple concept based on your in-game activity.
@metal-ravage I am willing to pvp, the problem is exploiters and cheaters in hourglass preventing me from ever getting any significant amount of progress towards the cosmetics, even on community weekends or Gold and Glory weekends.
