If you're friendly enough to get the purple nametag via alliance, I think unlocking the Armory for those players, is a valid benefit of that.

The arsenal lock should only be targeted at crew members whom I do not approve of.
If I form an alliance with other crew members, it means I approve of them and they should be able to use my arsenal,
