My Tall Tales! Sailing the seas to Monkey Island!

  • My Thoughts...

After the last My Tall Tales got such good feedback and seemed to be pretty popular and enjoyed, I'll make some more! If you really do enjoy this, then I would appreciate feedback on what I should write to make a better and better story each time! If you do enjoy this look forward to more, I plan on making a few.

Monkey Island, What in the world?

    Page 1

As I sailed the seas one day, I decided for some reason to do this wacky Tall Tale, which, I loved. It's very unique in a awesome setting, but, what in the world? Ships captained by monkeys, skeletons killed by root beer, demon poodles? I genuinely couldn't stop laughing, whoever wrote the story for that made a truly iconic game.
As for how it went? Now that, that's a story worth telling.
When I pulled into port I was automatically immersed in the world, the view of the shimmering lights in the windows climbing the side of a mountain, with a mansion towards the left, and the clock tower glowing in the night, while watching the flickering fire at the top of the mountain where the watchman sits, it was great! I walked off port, and wandered around for a moment, finding places to sit and listen to Guybrushes Memoirs, finding Pieces O' Eight on top of barrels, and under baskets. Then I made my way up to the Tavern, of course the place looked dead, nobody at the docks, or in the town, it also being the dead of night made it even more silent, but when I slung the door of the Bar open, I was greeted by a man burping in my face, pirates swinging around from the ceiling, shooting guns in the air, drinking grog and gambling, "NOW THIS IS A TAVERN!" I thought, watching the taverns residents as they almost killed each other multiple times. The place was lively, and as I went to the back there was nothing short of a comedy trio sitting at a table calling themselves "Pirate Kings' or something along those lines..... but Murray and the Cursed Captain were like listen to better versions of the two Old Muppet Men, who sat and laughed at everything. IT, WAS, GLORIOUS! Just like a tavern should be....

    Page 2

After I wandered around the tavern I learned that the chef mistook me for his apprentice, so I went and bought the chef uniform from the local old coot who ran the shop, a very grumpy man... anyway, after I returned to the Tavern/Bar, I went up to the chef and he showed me around the kitchen, then went on his break, which, apparently lasts indefinitely. After that, it was time to be naughty, I did exactly what the chef said NOT to do, I gave the pirates more beer, they got drunk, and I pickpocketed them, it was like I had a whole system. They couldn't resist the thought of more grog! Then I stole some Rootbeer Meat, and took it to some poodles, which turned them into demon poodles, then they attacked a skelly, and killed him.
And after a long time of talking to Murray making a plan for him to guard the entrance to Guybrushes mansion so i could sneak in, and finding bones scattered across the town. We rebuilt the body of the deceased skelly man that was kindly decapitated by demon poodles and then stick Murray's head on it.

Murray guarded the door, I snuck in, and then found Guybrush!

    Page 3

Guybrush made a twit of himself multiple times, his pants fell down, his wife turned out to be a pile of monkeys, what more can I say? Then he fell asleep! And a big skeleton with a large beard who apparently is allergic, just like all the other skellys, to Rootbeer, appeared, we fought for quite some time and then eventually he magicly poofed away into the void, after being sprayed by the equivalent of Rootbeer perfume to much! And after a painstaking 7 hours, I saved the day!!!!!

    The end!

Hope you enjoyed! please tell me if you have something you would like me to write, and I would appreciate feedback on what stories I make you like to read more!

  • I think Monkey Island is the best work they have done in this game.

I'm not a big time tall taler, I'm not really into linear experiences, at least not as much as I am random adventure in a sandbox. Monkey Island was not really a focus of mine when I was a kid, so not much attachment.

I just think it's incredible as a project, as art, and as a nostalgic experience for adventurers.

I don't think there is anything in the game that delivers as consistent of an experience as a duo or group of friends hopping into the Monkey Island world and just taking their time, figuring it out as a crew, just for fun.

This was some of the best adventures I ever had with my friends, just trying to figure it all out, listening to the complete ridiculous blabber coming out of Guybrushes mouth, it was better than a lot of experiences I've had in game. I definitely recommend it to all!

Does anybody want me to do a part two of this?
I didn't put a lot of the stories with my friends in, just purely because of the length of the tale already. If you want just say, I'm just glad people are enjoying it!
