You don't have an Xbox... YOU. You're speaking for yourself, not the PC community in its entirety. Again, you don't like the business model, spend your money elsewhere. Exactly. Also, the game costs about as much as any other AAA game. Especially a Games-As-A-Service title. It’s not just a single player 30 hour game. It’s more like an MMO. If that isn’t your cup of tea, that’s okay. But don’t complain to the devs to make them change an already reasonable price for their product.
Plus, You ARE getting two games for the price of one (if you own both a PC/Xbox). Otherwise, enjoy the version you can play! Others in this thread have already made the argument about how much a game costs. Rare isn’t trying to scam anyone. They’re just making a game they love and deserve to be paid for their efforts. I don’t see anything worthy of complaints here. Just people wanting cheaper games for no reason.
I for one am excited about SoT and can’t wait to play! And I’ll gladly fork over my money so Rare can continue to make an amazing game and support it over the years to come.

I'm the only one who doesn't have an xbox? Ok. I'm not asking to pay half for the game. I'm asking to pay the regular price for a pc game. I'm not paying extra for something I have no use for (play anywhere). And that's why I'm voting with my wallet too.Content- It's was the beta mate.
Store- I too would like it on Steam.
Price- Steep, but that has been the norm for ever. (And for SoT I think cleaning out the savings I will be. #brokepeopleproblems).
Platform- It works on both. It's actually better.
Micro transactions- Getting the rich people to pay for everyone's DLCs, that's a win mate.You can tell who plays indi games and who plays aaa games. 60 bucks is a normal game price. An average console game in the 80s was 50 bucks. Why do you expect aaa games to be lower in price. Run back to the cheap indi games. He says he is expecting to pay a normal price for a video game. No one forces anyone to buy the Game, if you like it u buy it, if u dont, you dont.
It's expensive so that Microsoft can sell more game passes. I'm sure the price will come down in half a year or so. As far as content and progression goes, we have no idea, but we know that there's a lot more in there than has been shown so far. Unfortunately, people love to jump to conclusions, and refuse to see that there might be more to come than what was in the closed beta.
I agree about the Windows Store, which I and any right-thinking person hate fervently. But microtransactions? Looks to me like they're going the Planetside 2/World of Warcraft way with this, letting you buy cool stuff that makes you unique in the game world, but doesn't affect your gaming experience in any way. Which is fine, IMO.
As far as "no way to buy only the PC version" goes, you could also say that you're buying only one version, and getting the other one free :). And I really, really like the fact that it's full price, because that tends to keep the casual griefers out.
@wertymk Did you not read any of the articles that released yesterday? Game is literally filled with content, most that we've not even seen or head of... it has awesome progression in it as well, I can't wait to be a legendary pirate with legendary voyages.

Why does it matter that you get the xbox version free with it... if you don't own or play on an Xbox... it's irrelevant to you.
Microtransactions are fine and a good option for this type of game to generate revenue after launch. Helps fund updates and new content creation. Plus none of it gameplay changing, and you'll be able to earn more (if not all) of them via in-game currency you grind out.
If anything the game is looking even better for release now that I ever imagined, and I was getting it regardless.
@wertymk The game has been in Alpha and Beta ya big ding ding, It's not like every other alpha and beta where they have all the content there. ALL content will be released 20th of March. They SAID that, that is what they PROMISED. With it being only 15th of FEB I think you jumped too many guns.

- I'm sorry but have you read up on any of the new content that will be coming? You say that you haven't played the game and that you're basing your information on what streamers and youtubers say. General rule of thumb, that's a horrible way to game, let alone live life.
- Yeah, Windows Store kinda sucks. Yeah Microsoft kinda sucks. Is it that significant enough to be included in a list of why a game fails? Not really. It's worked perfectly fine for me. In fact, MS Store's security is top notch compared to steam.

- It's not an "option" because they're giving you essentially 2 games in 1. With MS Play Anywhere, it allows for crossplay between PC and Xbox, broadening the player base, making it more fun for all.
- You're complaining about microtransactions on COSMETIC items, but would rather have a subscription based fee? Sorry no, you should be thanking everyone who DOES purchase MT cosmetics, because they're the ones who are funding future game content for you to play.

3. It's not $60 for me. Here in Finland it's 70€ which is around $87,20.- I'm not getting two games as I don't own an xbox. Like I've said, the play anywhere thing is the only excuse for the price tag, but those of us who don't own an xbox get nothing out of it so it would only be fair to get a discount.

- Care to explain how it sucks? Sure its not the best, but does it do its job? Yes.

@Wertymk That sucks that it's so expensive there, I'd suggest buying the game from another country if possible. Also, the the play anywhere feature isn't an "excuse" for the standard $60 price point in America. That's what every AAA game costs. You must be used to only playing indie games or something.

I think most people are also forgetting that Rare has always developed games for console players. This is the first time they have considered allowing play on PC. Add to that the fact that it's also crossplay and we're making history here. That alone is worth $60, which by the way, has been the standard price for console games for a really long time now.

Ok guys, I am a pc player and will play this on PC. it's on the MS Store to have cross play. It is a PLAY ANYWHERE title. And I know for a FACT that Rare is hiding MUCH more from us. They already gave us new info that I am excited about, like progression, customization, new guilds, and new enemies.
But... the one thing I hope they fix is the creator maker. I wanna make my own character. Sure, in their style, but my unique character nonetheless. And i'd have to spend a few hours looking for a character similar to the one I want. which I hope they fix...
