No it doesn't. It's literally their game. They can do what they want with it. I really don't think they care if that doesn't fit with your world view.

Ummm... I'm sorry to disappoint... But RARE does need to inform us if the game is going to take a Political /Religious /Moral stand point on subjects that are REAL WORLD issues and not Fantasy /Pirate based... This is NOT what I deem FUN... I paid for and supported a FUN game for EVERYONE to get away from world problems... Having paid for a pirate game I need to be informed if this is going into a controversial direction therefore NOT FUN... So that I can make a decision whether to continue or move on with this product...

Look, more name calling. All she has done is name calling. I think its time the mods treat her equally and ban her as they have banned people for far less. And this is not the first time she has name called. Maybe its time for a taste of that equality she wants so bad.

The flag doesn't add any more politics to the game than using guns, killing people and getting drunk does. Can we please move on from the null and void argument that it adds politics to the game. If you look hard enough you can find politics embedded in everything.

RARE are not required to stay neutral on anything whether you like it or not. They can choose to make a statement or they can choose not to. If you don't accept it don't fly the flag or stop playing.

Wrap it in white light and move on please.

Wow @Symbiosis519! What you sent to @MMountain is utterly disgusting and rude and shows exactly how blind you are to your own behaviours.

Before preaching tolerance and respect to others try and teach it to yourself. You went out of your way to bully and hurt another person because they have a different opinion to yours. That speaks volumes about so many things.

I already told you that I wish you could see past your hate because it would make you a happier person. You really need to start challenging your perspective on things for your sake and no one elses.

I'm saddened that you feel this hate so much that you have to log onto forums and harass people who don't conform to your views.

There's still people who think like you do in this day and age and that's both scary and disheartening.

I'm not provoking, I reported this to the mods yesterday and nothing happened and now he's accusing people of calling him names and threatening to get them banned. I'm calling out his hypocrisy and bigotry for what it is.

Why would the mods ban him or do anything? The mods work for Rare and you can track the responsibility of this whole incident back to Rare. They started this war in the forums. You don't need much brain to know everything would end up this way and still they did, what they did.

Their behavior is like the scene in "Die Hard", when they send Bruce Willis with the "I hate" sign.

When did I say this? His message is inacceptable for any discussion. I don't even want to know the context as it would not justify the message.

But it was predictable that some people will react very emotional and out of place sooner or later in a discussion like that.

Please read my message just above your message, which came in nearly the same time.

My position in this whole discussion is:
A game is not the platform to discuss ANY real life concerns.
And the forum is kind of part of the game. Same rules in the forum as in the game.

Is it attention you seek or acknowledgement?

@longingfern4785 I understand what you're saying but you don't see that you are supporting this kind of behaviour by excusing it.

Your argue that it was expected therefore why would it be bannable. RARE did a great thing and yes it caused backlash. That's when the mature people step in and educate others about these sorts of things.

When I say educate I mean actually show them the difference between claiming you're tolerant and actually being tolerant.

Educate that it's ok to not agree and it's healthy. It's not ok to harass someone over the forums because they have a different view to yours.

That kind of behaviour is unacceptable, whether RARE was asking for it or not. We should know better.

This is where I personally think Rare made a bit of a boo-boo here. If they had released the Rainbow flag with the other flags, such as the skull & crossbones, checker and coloured flags, I don't think anybody would have battered an eyelid. But what Rare did was to release the rainbow flag on its own, and included the reminder of Article 1 with the release of that flag. Article 1, of course, including (quite rightly) the message of sexuality tolerance. This got some people's backs up as the other flags are neutral, but the Rainbow flag does have some cause behind it, and some, it seems, felt as this cause was being shoved down their throats. I genuinely think Rare thought they were doing the right thing, but, boy, they could have done this in a lot better way.

Sorry, I am not the most intellectual of people and so I am not always good at explaining what I mean.
