Stardust Crusaders Guild - Search For Sky Diamonds

  • I just read a thread about adding constellations to the game for navigation and that got me thinking on a new search and recover mission that uses them to find falling stars.
Here's the thought - A group of Astronomers and scientists have entered the Sea of Thieves because a strange kind of diamond was found in the area that fell out of the sky. After years of study they have found a way to predict at what time and general area that one will fall. By giving you a general area using the grid on the ship map the search is filtered to a certain spot, lets say B4, here''s the conversation.
"There has been a sign from the heavens. In the vicinity of B4 on the 17 of June at 2:45 PM the star will fall. Look towards the Belt of Orian and there it will descend. Make haste for there is little time to waist."
After receiving the quest the star will fall at the designated time. After sailing to the designated way point you anchor, and wait. You are looking to the East at Orian's Belt and at exactly 2:45 PM you see it.A star is falling it's tail leaving a shimmering trail as it descends and it falls in the B5 area. The star enters the sea or crash like a canon ball into the sea or island. The trail is still visible and will allow you to track its where abouts. Another nearby crew seen the trail and also follows it. entering the B5 square and following the trail, they find a diamond of brilliant white (or other jewels that would indicate a tier of worth) that gives off a faint glow. You grab the jewel and return to your ship. The other crew following the trail sees you anchored and goes to intercept, as this is happening the sun begins to rise and the trail begins to fade. The first crew runs and returns to an outpost to turn in the jewel. After thanking the crew for the jewel he offers gold to pay for it and the ability to receive the Star Seeker's Compass, a Pristine work of art forged from the very stars themselves

  • That's a pretty cool concept of following falling stars to treasure of a sort. Star maps? Even without constellations or anything too fancy like that in the sky, there are probably a variety of ways to make that work.

    All that glitters is gold.

  • Is that a Jojo reference?

    Is that a Jojo reference?

If it is it wasn't on porpoise.

  • @twiladerp An entire season is called that way

  • @wturok I know, but copying the title of JoJo wasn't my intention, I haven't seen those episode yet. Just the first 2 other JoJos before him.
