There should be a language option in game as one of my friends I usually play with had a French version of the game in one of the scale tests. There are microphone options to be tweaked, I remember about a push to talk option, a volume option, and a 'directionality' option among other things.

There also are in game emotes that allow 'micless' players to communicate crucial information to other crewmembers.

You will find your fix I believe.

This must be done. I played or tried to play a few games with non talkers. ..it just can't be done with any effectiveness.
I dont mean it to be rude but it will also save the mic less guys from every team mate quiting on them because firsr thing i say i do you hsve a mic..if they say no then i leave.

So, I disagree. Can't people still hear you give orders? and if said people are good shipmates, can they not follow your orders? Also, you don't have to just use emotes, can also type. It's not THAT much of a handicap honestly, even in heated combat where you can bark orders like a captain to the micless.

If you have problems with a micless person, it's because they don't care, suck at the game, or are new.

A good micless player can do pretty much everything a player with a mic can do and will listen to you. You just get matched with sucky people is all. And some mic'ed people are just as sucky!

It honestly IS that much of a handicap for me to play with someone who cant talk. ...maybe its me ( fine) but still i cant play like that and should have an option to choose rather than quiting 50 crews before i get a talker.

a'ight. To each his or her own. We all have preferences, and I agree it would be more efficient to be able to have everyone talk, but I've run with some great crews who had micless guys in it, and they were fantastic, communicating when we needed them to. Unfortunately, most people aren't cool like that. Some people just want to play and not think, or at least be anonymous.

If they give us the option to get matched with people who use a Mic, you're not obliged to use it. I don't mind 1 person without a Mic, but an entire crew is just not how I want to play.

@gholin the micless are useless placeholders in a crew. The game is made to be social ; xbox COMES with a mic. As part of the PC m*********e you dont spend $2k+and NOT buy or have a mic. But again, a mic or non mic option would eliminate all of the issue by simply not matching me with mutes. To those talking about searching for groups or whatever thats all well and good. Seems joining a discord guild is the best option if they dont include a mic/ non mic option.

Holy c**p, man. First off, calling your fellow players useless placeholders is nothing but toxic. Mic or not people can be capable of playing this game and its social whether you speak or not. I’ve played in good crews who had limited mic use and we were quite successful.

Second, this kind of attitude might lose you potential friends and turns off people. Maybe be more open.

Third, not everyone who plays is part of the m*********e. Xbox one players are here too and they don’t all necessarily have working mics.

Fourth, some people don’t want to talk or can’t talk or are trying to be quiet and play. And some spend money on computers but don’t have a good mic. You don’t know people’s circumstances.

Finally it’ll be great if they implement the feature you want. Then you can be happy and other people don’t have to play with someone who considers them placeholders. I worry attitudes like this are gonna kill the community.

My xbox one x doesnt come with a mic. :( (but i bought one lol)

@solysdayga you wouldnt be punished. Just filtered out for not having a mic. And if you have mic but dont speak i wouldnt be in your crew. Its my play style.

Try using the looking for group feature in xbox clubs. You can specify players have mics.

Have you done this? 50% of the people that request an invite don’t read the tags. I always set mine to #adults only #mic required, and yet I get a lot of squeakers and mutes.

@gholin people not playing with others who dont have mics wont kill the community. The most fun times are had with a full crew who talk and laugh together. When you have a micless person in a 4 man crew its like being down a player. Especially if everyone is spread out on an grabbing resources. The micless cant just belt out cardinal directions or quickly report how many more balls, planks, or food is left in a barrel. It comes down to play style. I prefer and excel in groups who all have mics and communicate well.

@cpt-blackshark Segregating me based on something i have no control over. That is punishment. Sorry dude but it's prejudice and I am 100% sure it's against the Pirate Code. If you dont want to crew with a mute person, I dont care, but let that be an action you take personally, not something you force on the rest of the playerbase.

With the mic/no mic option it prevents them even being placed with you and only places people with you who dont mind playing with a person who doesnt have a mic. PS by your same logic im being punished by being forced into crews with people who dont have mics. #flawedlogic

You cant expect people like him to grasp the concept of logic or fairness .
I also wont play with someone without a mic and the first thing I ask when joining is do you have a mic and i type it too.
If i get no answer or they dont have a mic i quit and move on. Sometimes it takes 10 or more times to get someone worth playing with but its totally worth it.
There was 2 or 3 duplicate threads on this a while back and the mods finally spoke up and said ANYONE has the right to choose who to play with and there is NOTHING wrong with only playing with people with mics because its your choice.
Anyone stating otherwise just has a chip on thier little shoulders.

@timidobserver yeah totally agree with that. Mic/No mic and if nothing is selected you just get placed in a crew.
