Honest Game Trailer
@greaseman85 yet you'll get people saying they shouldn't make a BR mode because it's not what rare intended even though the game would blow up in popularity and have a mode for those that just want to fight.

As someone who does a majority of pvp with his captain @DrunkPunk138 I would hate this and we would probably never play it . PvP with no reason is just boring, I like the thrill of the chase and the risk of them not having anything.

Is it bad that some of the negative things are what makes the game fun.... like showing your friend a nap xD
@big-boi-stl lol Wow, who would have thought, mocking it in a such a way made it look more interesting. I might have to buy it again. lol

People tend to give the "it's not what Rare intended!" or "it is against the spirit of the game!" or "it will change the game!!" responses a lot to suggestions they don't like, yet I see dozens of suggestions daily on these forums that are most definitely about changing the game, and those same people love them.
I guess my point is that those arguments are lazy and provide nothing, while they can be used against them whenever those same people suggest something new (like adding new weapons and ships) to the game.@cyphronite said in Honest Game Trailer:
If I had to make video game videos for a living I would definitely jump on the hate train as well. Must be some easy bucks
The truth hurts, doesn't it?

That it's easy to make a lot of money with absolute trash taking no prisoners? No, not really.
The sad thing here is that these so called "influencers" really do have influence over others. But who cares, reflection and forming an opinion by oneself is overrated anyway.I mean this is satire, so it's not that bad. But he is really cheap, picking up all those cheap verbiages, he sounds like a parrot - ironically

Not really, I'm still enjoying this game. Though I gotta admit I doubt I'll get merchants to 50, because it's super boring. But that doesn't mean I have to talk s**t about the game before my huge audience to make money with that.
@cyphronite Good for you for enjoying the game. There's no talking sh**, the video is hilariously pointing out what's wrong with the game. It is simply a review in a hilarious sense. The other reviews for the game aren't exactly great....
@cyphronite That's a consensus about the game. Again, the point of Honest Trailers is to be funny while retaining some truth.
@greaseman85 The "consensus"? Yeah, the consensus of people with a frozen perception of what games can or should be. This "consensus" also trash-talked Diablo3s director into the ground, and this "consensus" also causes major turmoils in every CoD or BF topic in the universe.
No thanks, I don't need any "consensus" to see that the public vocal minority / opinion about this game is a mess.
@cyphronite Calm down dude. The game is objectively not that good. It is the consensus of the gaming community, not just some "vocal minority" as you put it. I would argue the vocal minority are those that praise the game and get mad at criticism.
Here's the thing though, if you enjoy the game, you really shouldn't care. This Honest Trailer thing has been done for lots of games, including one I enjoyed a lot, like Fallout 4. The things they said about that game were absolutely accurate and funny. I didn't cry about it.
@greaseman85 Sorry, didn't want my post to sound not calm, wasn't meant as a rant or heated answer. I can laugh about videos like that, but in the same time I'm pretty annoyed by the fact that so many people need games to stay in known territory and don't allow them to do new stuff or be bold even. I think (or hope) SoT has a solid fanbase and Rare doesn't give in to those main-line-gamers who want it to be something else.
Because that is what makes SoT a cool game and what differentiates it from all that boilerplate template games that seem to be almost all the same.
