Error code 30005 EasyantiCheat_EOSSYS failed with 1275 - Win11 24H2

  • Long story short, I had to reinstall Windows 11 because of issues. So after installing the new build that was released (Win 11 24H2) I now get the error '30005 EasyantiCheat_EOSSYS failed with 1275'.

After doing some searching it appears to be the new security settings at the kernal level that EasyCheat is not liking. As a result I basically can't play the game until EasyCheat / SoT do a fix to address it. I've read that I could turn off the kernal level protection but that's not something that I want to be doing for one game (that I've found the problem for so far).

This post is more an FYI in case others come across it, maybe someone has some other ideas to work around it, in which case I'm all ears.

  • Having the same issue, ever since i did the latest windows update that i get this error.

I had to rollback the windows update to finish the season pass last season. But im not going to rollback a windows update just to satisfy this kernel anti-cheat. This has to be fixed asap and not forcing people to rollback security updates of the operating system.

  • This seems like a bait to make cheats works.

    No thanks.

  • @il-truth-li yes, i definetly want to put my pc at risk for the sake of a cheat. Makes perfect sense.

This is just a fix that EAC or SoT need to sort. Im not advocating to remove EAC (altough i would prefer a AntiCheat that isnt soo intrusive on your system like kernel level Anticheat is). But not being able to play SoT because i keep my pc updated is just frankly stupid.

If u realy think we are trying to cheat, update your Windows11 to latest update and try to launch it.

Beside this, since last season, when i close the game, my pc blue screens aswell (i have a video i made with my phone to show it happening), only happens specificaly with Sea of Thieves, no other game my pc bluescreens or has ever. Idk wth they are doing in background or if its EAC shutting down. But this game has a bunch of issues atm that makes it unplayable.

Calling us an "attempt to cheat" is just being ignorant.

The solution i found was to delete the eac file from sot, deleted sot entirely then i dug for the main eac file thats installed in my computer system and deleted that entirely, restarted my computer, then reinstalled sot since it installs a fresh easy anti cheat on install. Though at the same time i did update my graphics drivers which may have been the solution as well, but it was one or the other.

I did check to make sure eac was reinstalled before booting sot cause i didnt want to get in any trouble, but it was installed fresh and everything worked afterwards.

  • @goldsmen ill try this then.

    Thanks for the tip.

Ill check back later to see if it worked for me

I forgot to mention the main file for easy on your system is found by going to your main system hard drive in your file search and under "program files (x86)" at least thats where its found on my system, you will have to remove it when your computer is freshly booted before opening anything with easy installed or else it wont delete well. And a different easy anti cheat file is in sot's folders, i deleted both before deleting the game.

Afterwards installing sot again should reinstall easy totally fresh! If clearing both files and reinstalling doesnt fix the problem it could be a graphics driver issue. Let me know how it goes!

  • @weldenwarden312

My win 11 and my drivers are updated, execpt for a bluetooth One. I didnt have any issue;running with dx12.

  • @goldsmen Soo i looked online and people say i should have a EasyAntiCheat_EOS folder where u said.

I looked arround and couldnt find that folder anywhere.

I install all my steam games in a separate disk and there was no folder like that aswell.

I will try reinstalling SoT now and checking if it fixed it

  • @weldenwarden312 Unfortunatly reinstalling didnt allowed me to run Sea of Thieves. I remain with the exact same issue.

  • I have the same problem.

Tried the fixes as @GoldsMen suggested but the issue still happens for me.

  • @goldsmen I tried your idea when I first installed SoT, removed everything including the EAC folder, reinstalled and no different.

As my system was a new install of Win 11 24H2 I'm pretty confident that the problem is the added security in 24H2 especially when Microsoft have even said that they have added extra programming language into the kernal to protect at the memory level with it's 24H2 build.

Only fixes I've found are either not play the game, or to turn off the 'Memory integrity' found under "Windows Settings - Privacy & Security - Windows Security - Device security - Core isolation" and then clicking Core isolation details to turn off the Memory integrity.

Not ideal but until EAP / SoT has been updated to address the issue, this will have to do (for those who want to play the game).

  • Additional info to back up my finding. Seems to only affect devices with Intel’s Alder Lake+ processors and vPro platform are affected

So far ever since that fix worked for me, all im finding is that eac is a total buggy mess that treats everyone differently. Its weird that the same solutions dont work for the same issue.

  • @goldsmen Very weird indeed. Wish your fix did work to be honest rather than turning things off for one game.
