What if sea of thieves whas ported fully to VR

  • I know a few ways of doing it but it would bring a new level of depth to sea of thieves and make it a bit more accessible to others that don't have consoles or computers and only have something like a meta quest 2

The first thing that the VR players would need is a manual reload system, basically just place your hand over the top of the barrel until you hear a sound the get the hammer ready

The second thing VR players would need is interaction spots on things like chests and the rigging of the ship as so they could actually play

The third thing they would need is a heads up display that follows their camera as so they can see what they are doing

The fourth thing they would need is a special way to control the map and quest table

The last thing they would need is a special menu screen that actually let them enter the game

  • I am sorry if this seems like a bad idea, because is probably is, they would have to make either special servers for the VR players or make cannon controls their joysticks

  • there's no denying plying SoT in VR would be really cool. But if it were ever considered it could not be allowed to interact with the main game and the other players. It's bad enough dealing with cheaters and the issues with hit reg, I think normal players would be at a disadvantage in a fight if they went against someone who was capable of doing things like leaning over a ledge to shoot and stuff like that.

It's not a bad idea because i'd love to see SoT's world as if i'm really there, but I just don't think it's feasible

  • @theredhead5271 thank you, that would be how it would have to work

  • Players already have issues with “motion sickness”
This would just increase that problem for them

  • Check out Sail VR, it's not the same but there are some similar components
