Reaper's Hideout Practice Arena

  • As shown in the picture, there's an outlying island near the Reaper’s Hideout that currently has no specific purpose. I believe this space could be used to create a PvP Arena, where players can practice and improve their combat skills.

As I am a long-time player focused on PvP, I have already come across a lot of new players, playing with, teaching, etc. One of the biggest struggles is learning the ropes of PvP without any place where they can practice. This would allow anyone to get better just by not experiencing failure and struggle in the Adventure.

    The Arena Concept:

    • A large open combat zone with obstacles like masts, shipwrecks, crates, and other cover elements.
    • Players can enter the area freely to spectate.
    • To participate, players must talk to an NPC and select one of two difficulty levels. This would determine their loadout for the match (their previous inventory items would be erased).
    • Upon leaving the arena, player inventories would reset to their original state, so nothing is carried over into Adventure.
    • There could be commendations tied to performance, and a “King of the Hill” mechanic to track how long someone can stay on top.
    • It could also serve as a space for community events or player-hosted duels, not just practice.

This addition would provide a fun and pressure-free way for players to improve their PvP skills and keep the Adventure plays more on the same skill level, more interesting fights, not just sinking players without much experience with PvP, while also bringing more use and life to the Reaper’s Hideout region.

  • Gib! I would love to have place like that.

  • I've been pushing for a lil TDM arena at Port Merrick, but I think this is way better than that.

  • Right next to a hand in is a bad idea, unless it's a separate instance.

You can't tell if they are noobs until after they a sunk. There's no way to see how skilled players are.

The fact that it would be next to the only reaper hand in is indeed problematic, there's possibly better option further north, the Arena Tavern I believe you could have a fairly decent floating arena tied by ropes there and it would reuse some assets.

    and attack other pirates.

    improve their PvP skills

Yeah...restricted, everyone knows what you have, and everything is expected. No mystery.

keep the Adventure plays more on the same skill level

    huh..
