Can you prosper as a solo pirate? Yes, you can!

  • I saw a post by @DracLFD about being a solo pirate and thrive, well, i just tried and look what i got.

4 chests, and i didnt even finished my voyage, i had to stop when i got the chest of sorrow, because carrying this chest being a solo player can be a real pain so i decided to bring him back to a outpost, not even counting that i had to outplay/avoid 2 small ships with 2 members each trying to sink me at the same time so yeah, it was a blast, and i got a lot of gold just by playing for 20 minutes, and i'm primarily a solo player, i dont like to depend on someone to play a game so i go more for my solo voyages, i do have some new friends that i found playing the game, but it isnt impossible to prosper alone, in fact, i think it is easier in a way, and harder on the other, its just a different perspective that i enjoy.

  • I play solo all the time without any issue.

There is a different play style for being solo, and you need to be careful but it's not too bad.

  • I usually play as a duo

P.s. how do I upload images lol

  • I nearly always sail solo. Someone recently hopped aboard without an invitation and turned out to be a great crewmate. But I enjoy setting my own goals and taking things at a relaxed pace.

How much gold have I found and banked as a solo pirate? Enough to max out at rank 25! Granted, I'm in the game way too much. But even after losing treasures and ships occasionally, a solo pirate can amass a fortune.

Here is a video of one of my solo adventures... and a cautionary tale about sailing into a storm with a Chest of Sorrows!

  • Playing Solo is great! I wish more people learned their way around the game before complaining about balancing issues and the like.

Solo isn't easy, but it isn't meant to be. There's even a disclaimer. That said, once you learn your way around the sloop, it's the best ship out there. I play primarily Solo/Duo and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Congrats on your haul! Outsmarting the bigger ships is definitely my favorite part of playing Solo. Glad others are enjoying it.

  • @masterse7en Exactly, if you don't like the crew play-style or don't have a mic, solo is perfect and balanced.

  • Nice. I'm not even any good, and solo is still a lot of fun. I think the most random, entertaining things happen when you solo. You just have to not be so hung up on dying. You get your ship right back, and you don't lose anything on your person. Death in this game is VERY forgiving, so I don't know why people make a big deal out of it.

  • yup been playing solo managed to out run a few 4 man ships but alsp been sunk, fought and died but yea solo is good fun. I may try a duo ship soon

  • I've sailed solo throughout the beta, and it was only yesterday where I ran into my first serious grief. I've managed to collect 4 or 5 chests in a row a couple of times, now I'm doing the bigger map chains- & bagged myself 1,000+ coins from each of those hauls.
I enjoy sailing solo. It's nerve wracking at times, but very rewarding when you beat the odds on your own...

  • Playing solo is really hard but fun. I would not recommend it for new players.

But I think you should get more loot if you play solo because you don't have to share with anybody. That would reward the risk of sailing alone.

  • Hip Hip for solo pirates!

  • I too have played solo a lot. Really good for when I know I will only play for a short time. I really haven't had a lot of people give me a hard time either - I just try to avoid other boats when possible. I've fought a few, but don't if I have chests. Got 6 chests this morning, no problem.

  • i played solo and i sunk two big ships and 4 small ones by myself.

Its hilarious, it only starts being unfun when they use the shotgun to knockback you from your ship when you dont see them climb the ladder while abusing the mermaid.
