I do have the founders invitation for Sea of Thieves on Xbox but have been interested in play testing it on the PC. I wanted to know if there is still a planned Beta for Pc along with the coming beta next week. Also, ive been trying to preorder for PC and it only allows for the option of preorders on xbox. Is it cross purchase where you buy on xbox and also get it free on Windows 10? Please let me know and thanks for your time.

I'll start another thread, if I don't succeed in contacting the devs directly. I got the Founder status and the closed beta invite, there's no mention anywhere of it being an Xbox exclusive. When I was creating my account, I specifically wrote that I only have a PC and I just recently upgraded my machine so that it can run recent MMOs. It would be strange if they've invited the PC users and only planned the Xbox beta. We'll see. :)Ah, okay, there are some answers here:

im also wondering about this ? i got invite to alpha on xbox but don't own one so i really wondering if i can play closed beta on PC? I gotan answer on the alpha test that i will be able to test this on my pc in earliy 2018 but haven't seen any info about it anywhere :/
Plz devs answer really want to play this game :)@impish436 The only way to guarantee this at the moment since we haven't heard from the devs is to make sure you preorder it on the platform you want to play on.
We haven't heard anything specifically bout Play Anywhere yet, but keep your eyes peeled for any announcements.
Cross-play feature to my understanding will be active.
This is not necessarily a Rare feature, cross-play is a feature other XBox One games have and is supported by Microsoft and it's code libraries that Rare is using to support the feature. Whether or not a developer enables the feature is another matter of course, but it would be in their best interest to enable the feature during beta for the purposes of a beta.I was also concerned by this as at least one of my potential crew mates will be on PC for beta, where as I am on XBox, but I was assured that crossplay would be active.
@void-presence Cross-play (Xbox and PC users plying together) will be active but we are yet to hear if Play Anywhere (the ability to play on both platforms and pick up where you left off) will be enabled or not.
There is often this misunderstanding that they are the same thing, unfortunately, they are not.
@musicmee Guess that would depend on where the character data is stored. If locally, the game would have to migrate that data to the other platform during the save. If server-based, no need (as long as you're using the same account)--but then it comes down to how SoT servers are managed.
If the login server is the same for everyone, this isn't a problem as the character data could be there, but if you login to a different server every time you play, that would require local data save.
I suspect and hope for the former (login server is the same, but then it moves you to a specific game server).@void-presence It is saved in the cloud linked to your Gamertag, but during the alpha stage, this feature has not been enabled and invites have been platform locked.
