Just a thought of what a future customization for the sails and cannons could be. I know we can't yet customize cannons but dragon cannons would be a real cool customization for if/when we're able too.
And for those who don't know what a junk ship is, it isn't a piece of garbage ship, it's just what the Chinese used to call their old boats. I really like the design of the sails and I would love to see junk sails in Sea of Thieves.
@sir-rhavi Hmm, not sure that's correct, I believe the type of ship @Reggae-Ramon is talking about might be this one, as used by Zheng Yi in the 17th Century, which would make it contemporary with galleons and sloops. Sloops though did tend to have a gaff type rig rather than the single sail we see in game.

Fair enough, but even so, I've seen no mention of Junks having cannons, (all the accounts of battles I've seen employ grapple+board and fire ships tactics) Save the Korean turtle ships, or at least no focus on using them.
Zheng He's (I think that's who you meant) was filled with troop ships, treasure barges and cargo ships that were almost as wide as they were long, 7-9 masted behemoths.
Not to mention they are far from the Caribbean-esque island scenario we have :-|
