Sea of Thieves Nominated for Eight Awards
Whilst we're hard at work putting the finishing touches to Forsaken Shores, we've received the thrilling news that Sea of Thieves has been nominated for four Golden Joystick Awards and shortlisted as a finalist in four categories at the TIGA Games Industry Awards 2018. We're very proud of what we've accomplished so far and it warms our pirate hearts to have that work recognised within our industry.
The Golden Joystick nominations for Sea of Thieves are in Best Audio, Best Cooperative Game and Xbox Game of the Year, with a Studio of the Year nomination for Rare. Every category of the Golden Joysticks is decided by public vote, so if you've enjoyed your voyage so far we'd love it if you'd vote for us.
The four TIGA Awards categories we've been shortlisted in are the Creativity Award, Action and Adventure Game, Audio Design and Visual Design. Rare Studio Head Craig Duncan has also been shortlisted for the Leadership Award. The TIGA Game of the Year Award is decided by a public vote, so again, if Sea of Thieves is that game for you, we'd love you to throw your metaphorical dagger onto the voting table and have your say. Voting closes October 19th.
Recent additions to the Xbox family Ninja Theory, Playground Games and Compulsion Games have also received nominations across the two shortlists, so congratulations to our friends!
Win or lose, we love the community that's grown up around the game and it's been our absolute pleasure to sail with you during these first six months. There are many more adventures still to come…
