SOT needs to stop adding new features

  • The game needs to run smoothly while having more players in a server . Most of the time on the seas , i do not see any players and quite frankly the game has become boring as there almost no player interactions . I believe it has to do with my region as well , but there has to be a way for the game to start focusing on player count especially after all the added features .Make the game lively , keep player retention as increased player interactions adds an unpredictable and unique experience tat is different for every adventure , making the repetitive quests , forts , events into something different every time u boot the game . SoT is the perfect pirate game but the experience on the seas with other pirates isn't . Sorry for the rant , i just rly do not want to see a one of a kind game like this go down such a path.

Funny I’ve seen a few or alot of people saying they can’t play without running into players and being sunk on the spot. :/

  • It's partialy becouse nowadays crew tend to stay short on servers thous hindering organic experience based on player interactions.

I remeber that voyage system tend to send players in similliar directions nowadays I don't know if it works with all that diving.

Still state of game is abysmall and with all my love to SoT i stoped playing it couse it feeled more like slog.

  • People don't play this game or interact to have fun, they play to see numbers go up in one way or another. Whether that is their in game currency or likes on their social media post or viewers in their channel, etc. A lot of people aren't doing what makes a scenario more fun or exciting, they are just going for numbers.

I had a 2 hour fight last night with another solo. No treasure involved, no showing off or doing spite plays. It was just a goofy and very random back and forth of piratical combat around the map. For no reason at all other than they wanted to fight and I wanted to see what would happen.

I find something like that maybe once a year and I play all the time.

It's a game that people treat like a job and it's an adventure game that is maintained like a farming simulator. That's where things become uninteresting. It can be fun, but a lot of people are choosing to not make it fun, and direction of the game leans more and more into the numbers game, into the contrived content experience.

The randomness and organic experiences tend to get replaced with a bunch of contrived and/or spite-filled activity.

Even if the game is a mess, players can still choose to make an organic scenario fun with each other. They just don't make that choice. Gotta give to get.

Yes and not. Game being mess make organic scenarios less and less possible as general frustration progress. It is still possible if you seek it - by seek it I mean invest time in server and don't shy from interactions. But when general game - server health kick in experience falter.
