I think it would be amazing if Sea of Thieves created something similar to an event where several ships could either attack each other or make alliances, but not as a common event, but with many players alone.Or even with your friends would be a great idea.

A friend and I were heading to a contested skull fort, where 2 other sloops were fighting over. We park and start killing waves of skeletons ourselves, until the 2 sloops notice, so they alliance up and both come after us. I was laughing so hard as I kept sailing in circles around the fort, fighting off boarders while my friend shot them using the fort cannons. We sink them both, open the vault, grab the loot, and see one sloop on its way back.
It sounds like we experienced exactly what you've described 😆
