Dagger tooth Outpost Cheese HG spot

  • Please make that spot at Dagger Tooth outpost unable to get a sloop stuck in there.

Going against people in Hourglass who get their boat stuck in there so they take no water is very annoying.

  • They cant move from that spot, or properly shoot.

stay out of the way and, wait them out. OR get creative and get them out yourself.

No place in the sea is truly, Unsinkable.

  • @burnbacon maybe but unless they fixed it if your ship black screens that was the only way to stay on a server without merging off because you only merge when you sink. a forced despawn due to being stuck would spawn you outside the hourglass battle. still in battle then you just PvE till the other crew gets bored and quits giving you the win.

  • @burnbacon

So you support the idea of putting your ship into Dagger Tooth, Port Merrick, and Kraken's Fall as a legitimate tactic in hourglass? Or do you just feel that it's a viable strategy that people should be able to overcome rather than Rare fixing it?

Personally, I think OP is right and I think there would be very simple ways to solve these areas by changing water levels and/or adding obstructions. It's been years without being addressed or solved by Rare and personally I feel it's a pretty scummy tactic to use in hourglass.

  • @burnbacon Lame take tbh bro. Sounds like, you don't want this removed and think its ok for players to do?

Wait them out LOL. What, and let them waste my own time?
Id rather scuttle and go again and actually have some good fair fights, not play someone else's game they're forcing others to play.

It's literally super lame. They get their boat stuck in there and wait 15/20 minutes to get invaded just so they can do this. It's not a fair fight or a honourable way to win, its literally people who want to force tdm on others. They dont want to make an actual tdm because they take some sick satisfaction out of the little attention they get from ruining other peoples dives/streaks. Its actually kinda sociopathic to an extent.

All rare need to do is either:

    1. Make boats in that area take full water from front holes. Like when a ship is in deep water.
    2. Add a block so boats physically cant get in there.
    3. Make the ship de-spawn when in this spot - similar to when a ship has beached an island.

Are you two still under the influence of the New Year's Champaign Champagne ? I don't read anything like that in their post - it's a few tips to handle this obvious exploit, so people can deal with it until it gets fixed.

  • @lem0n-curry

    Not really.

His comment sounds like justification for nothing to be done about it.

'They cant move from that spot or properly shoot.' - trying to make it seem like the players who use/exploit this spot are the ones at the disadvantage.

'Stay out the way and wait them out. OR get creative and get them out yourself' - 2 way he thinks we should deal with it rather than anything actually being done to prevent people exploiting this spot.

Then he summarises his points with 'No place in the sea is truly unsinkable' - leading us to believe they can be sunk in that spot. This is true, but its not at the same as being anywhere else on the map. Which is exactly why they are there in the first place, we all know it.

These comments, don't support the need for a change to be done by Rare for this spot. His comments are actually justifying the use of the spot and for Rare to do nothing and we need to just deal with it as and when we encounter it while hourglass diving.

Its a similar cheese strat like sloop used to be alliances with a galleon, and would wait to be invaded, just to do sloop + Gally vs a sloop. While the Sloops are in the circle, the gally can move everywhere freely, not only help 1 sloop win but also leave and go get more supps etc. Its just sad tbf.

    But sure... whatever you say.

    Champagne btw.

I'm pretty sure that was fixed.

  • @lem0n-curry

The person you are referring to has suggested when bone callers were being exploited that we should swap to a lure dart in solo hourglass and firebomb our own ship and mentions nothing about the problem being addressed and, you know, FIXED. The entire point of the poster was that this shouldn't be happening and is unfair and should be solved. No mention of him being for or against this method in hourglass.

He also doesn't play hourglass but is the first to make "suggestions" on how to play hourglass. He's not breaking any camps.

"No place in the seas is truly unsinkable" well he's not wrong, the ship using this tactic will often have another ship on the same server and is competent at TDM, so it's as close as it's gets and likely will take even a top crew an hour to sink. It's a forced TDM and an unfair fight, plain and simple. They have the advantage before the fight begins, and likely enough food to last a few hours.

Back to my champagne, I suppose

Is this round the back of the outpost? I did hourglass yesterday and found a sloop tucked in there. Shot it loads and it wouldn't sink, the player was just stood on the beach playing his banjo....
