Sea of Thieves Season 14

Sea of Thieves
Season 14

Sneak through the Sea of Thieves and cause mischief wherever you go with new stealth-focused tools and mechanics!

New Features

Embrace a more mischievous side of the pirate life with a wealth of new tools and weapons dedicated to stealth, sneaking and causing chaos whenever you encounter other crews. From traversal tactics and silent strikes to deceptive disguises and tricky traps, there’s a lot to explore in Season 14…

Bring It All Back

Extend your reach to pull in loot, crewmates and even enemies from afar! Whether you’re trying to close the distance so you can take a few swipes at someone with your cutlass or just eager to shift your loot from place to place without having to strain your back, the versatile Grapple Gun has you covered.

Set Up a Shortcut

Walking around is so passé – why not grapple instead? Firing the Grapple Gun at a solid surface will propel you after it at speed, allowing you to scramble up cliffs, hop along beaches and close the distance to enemy vessels with a swiftness and agility usually reserved for particularly sure-footed mountain goats.

Strike in Silence

with a Blowpipe

Pirates aren’t usually known for their subtlety, but going in quietly can sometimes be a more effective strategy than open warfare. Now, with a practically soundless blowpipe in your Armoury, you can go on the prowl equipped with four of each different dart type to cause chaos from the shadows!

Ammo Types

Black Powder Dart

Most pirates would fear having something like this near their face, but it’s for a good cause. These explosive darts operate on a short fuse and detonate when the timer runs down, blowing back and igniting enemies. Quick-thinking pirates struck by darts can dive into the sea, use a bucket of water (or even vomit) or fire a blast from a Horn of Fair Winds to extinguish the fuse!

Poison Dart

Too long have snakes held a monopoly on the ability to poison their enemies! Now the Sea of Thieves’ weaponsmiths have performed successful venom extractions, and the resulting concoction has been used to craft these toxic darts. Fire them at your enemies to inflict damage over time. Hit by one yourself? Offset its effects with food or a helping hand from a crewmate!

Lure Dart

This alluring dart proves irresistible to any enemy who sees it, glinting like treasure for other players and drawing the ire of any skeletons, Phantoms, Ocean Crawlers, sharks or Sirens nearby. Crafty pirates might use them to lure enemies into traps, while sailors of a more sedate nature may use a Lure Dart to coerce their opponents into fighting each other instead.

Crouching

In a game of stealth, the most important tool in any pirate’s arsenal is their own knees! You’ll move more slowly while crouching and you won’t be able to use your weapons, but the upside is the ability to move silently through the world, hidden from all manner of enemies – just as long as you stay out of their line of sight.

Hanging Spots

No matter how quietly you move, there are only a limited number of places you can hide on a ship. So it’s good news that pirates have now mastered the art of clinging to a ship’s railing, out of sight of an unwary crew! From these hanging spots, a sneaky scoundrel can linger unnoticed while maintaining a view of the deck to spy anyone coming their way.

Traps

While you’re sneaking around, why not lay a trap for unsuspecting enemies? New throwable traps found throughout the world can be primed to injure anyone who gets too close. They can also be partially buried to make them harder to detect, and loaded with additional items like firebombs, fireworks or Cursed Cannonballs to pack an extra punch. But traps don’t discriminate, so watch your step!

Merfruit

Crouching and hiding will help when boarding an enemy vessel, but a mermaid looking to be helpful could still give you away. Fortunately, strange Merfruit has started appearing in barrels across the seas – a new food item that can restore a little health and, when cooked to perfection, temporarily dismiss any Merfolk waiting around to transport you back to your own ship.
