Split Screen

  • With the new update this May (Lost Treasures) I thought it would ve nice to recommend a Split-Screen for the people who only have one Xbox and can't afford to buy another copy of Sea of Thieves for the computer. Split-Screen can help brothers and sisters to play together as a family in Sea of Thieves.

  • This game won't run in split screen on an XBox without severely limiting what you would be able to do.

  • @d3adst1ck SOLUTION XBOX SERIES X

  • @luigicraftgamin i doubt that will work, you cant just have 2 people playing at once like magic, it would take years of development

  • @fllw3rb0y Okay good point

  • @luigicraftgamin you don't need 2 copies to play on Xbox and on PC at the same time...
you just need to have you account logged in the MS store and you can play the game on PC with any account you want while you play on xbox with yours.

  • No. Even if possible, it would lead to screen-looking cheaters - for example, seeing a pirate sneak up behind you that you wouldn't otherwise see yourself because you can also see through your crewmate's eyes.

  • @nunoazuldimeter That's for people who have Game Pass

  • @luigicraftgamin no it isn't

  • Offline mode. Charge 10$. Split screen so you can coop. No progression but you can use stuff from regular adventure. Since it's not keeping track of 6 ships, why not.

    Charge for it...

I mean, I guess that's possible. Though I think you may be overstating the advantage or utility. If your playing with your friends or any crew worth there salt the other pirate whose eyes you would be "looking through" would say: "hey bud, there's a sneaky pirate sneaking up behind you." I'm not necessarily saying it couldn't happen, just that thats a pretty unconvincing argument against it. I do believe the other posts that its just not technically possible given the Xbox hardware capabilities. But who knows, maybe in Sea of Theives 2.

  • @ronin20 It's still an advantage through and through - it's still a lot faster to see something and act upon it than it is to have your friend see it, spell it out for you, for you to comprehend it, and then act upon it - that's 2 steps vs. 4!

  • I think the current xbox consoles would melt.

    Maybe on series x though.

    Paying for coop ?

    🤣🤣🤣🤣

I've heard it all on this forum now.

  • @pithyrumble

Instead of no progression why not make it a separate pirate? Like regular vs insiders. I have two pirates they each have their own adventures. I cant use my insiders pirate in public and Vice versa. That way there is progression but no one has an upper hand in the main pvpve game?

  • @luigicraftgamin said in Split Screen:

    It also works with Gamepass,.
But also works for people who own a copy of the game. But only works with a digital copy.

The game is Play Everywhere. You can play the same copy on PC and Xbox at the same time.

    That too

  • @luigicraftgamin No it is not just for gamepass. Sea of Thieves is one of the games in the "Xbox Play Anywhere" games. You must own it digitally, but That means that if you own it (Not gamepass), Then you can play it on Xbox AND PC. I know, because I have both Sea of Thieves and Cuphead. And i can play both on xbox and pc.

Most of the game is run by the server instance - AI, events, spawning, hit detection, account data like gold and rep, etc..

This stuff can't be accessed offline without a major rewrite. It would essentially be a completely different game (10 bucks isn't going to cover it). There is a near zero percent chance we will see an offline mode.

  • @talriaen What about the people who don't own the digital version of Sea of Thieves

  • @luigicraftgamin then you don't get to play on Xbox and PC. Plain and simple.

I suppose that could give a slight advantage, it's an argument I don't think I've ever come across before with split screen games and there have been a number of games that allow local split screen for online multiplayer modes. I suppose it's possible that the advantage might get balanced out by the disadvantage of having to focus on both players at once.

  • @galactic-geek One would assume that if you are playing Sea of Thieves together in the same room you are working as a team, so that wouldn't really be "Cheating" so much as teamwork.
