Fresh on the Seas!

  • Hey everyone! Name's Athyrie. I initially purchased Sea of Thieves years ago, but never actually played it because I was playing other games at the time. Recently a group of friends got me to play it with them, and I had such a blast! Now I'm hooked! I'm still learning (and boy do I have a lot of learning to do lol) but it's such an immersive game. I can't believe I didn't play this when it first came out. I'm kind of mad that I didn't lol!!! Anyway, if you have any tips and tricks for a newbie, feel free to share!

The excitement that you feel can last a very long time if you maintain it well.

Prioritize fun and sense community and crew.

Try to avoid letting your ego take over.

Never treat this game like it's your job.

Never treat or view your crew like they are expendable.

Don't take wins and losses seriously. Pvp is just practice in this game.

If the session goes south, just let it go, don't carry it. In a few seconds you can be on a new server and on a new adventure.

Don't compare yourself to others. Don't let anyone convince you that you are bad at an adventure game.

Welcome, I hope you have many great adventures.

Thank you so much!!! I appreciate the tips!

Today, I got together with some friends and we recruited two other ships to our Alliance, and it was such a blast. xD

One of our allies got sank by another crew so we sailed to where they died and took out the ship that sunk them, like true allies. It was great lol

There will be highs and lows as you adventure through it all, but in gaming I like to see the lows as being shallow and easy to get out of.

One more piece of advice is to be present in all the moments. You don't have to be alert or on guard in every moment but stay connected to the experience. That time spent traveling between the islands is pretty magical too.

Everything else just works itself out organically.

Your skill will go up, you will gain more experience and knowledge, nothing to be in a hurry about.

  • Welcome to the high seas.
