Hello,
We have had the current map for a while now. Is it possible to add a wintery biome. I have so many ideas you could do for that. New quests, emissary, loot etc.
What do you think?
New map ideas
This is my semi-annual showing of support for this.
Not popular with feedback regs but one of the only things that is gonna realistically move the needle with casual play for a season.
- It's a fantasy game, couldn't be easier to explain it through lore. The game is full of winter cosmetics.
- It's pretty in a pretty game.
- Appealing for casual players that don't care about lore or sticking to a specific theme.
- Seasons are largely just leveling, leveling with a new tool/weapon once in a while, and more leveling. New scenery at least makes that slightly more appealing.
Would be more popular in existence than it is in feedback areas. And the regs that oppose it will still use it for screenshots, lol.
@miserenz That just speaks for how desperately Microsoft needs to allocate newer/better servers to Rare. It's such a shame to see so much potential for massive expansion of the world we love, being hindered by old/incapable equipment.

That is only half the poroblem, the older gen xbox and playstations also drag down the possibilities, not to mention spag bog coding and old gaming engine. Maybe with SOT v2.0 in 10 years time@miserenz That too, yeah. Although SoT is only available on PS5, which is more than capable of running the game.

It's a game engine issue also, Unreal Engine is not the best for big maps.
Seen this issue with a few other Unreal Engine games, like Sc-um game. Sc-um game was meant to have a map size four times the size it currently is, they have hit a wall making it bigger and have said it will stay it's current size.
