Important: Unattended Gifts left

  • Getting the gift's achievements is frustrating by itself because they do not appears very often. And when they do, there are not many chances of getting other pirates to sell them on Reapers even when you left them close to Flamehart's feet hoping for some pirate goes to Reaper's Hideout, sees it and sell it while you are still on the same server.

The math gets even worst when suddenly the server changes due the lack of pirates in it. If you leave Reaper's while that happens, your Gift stays in the previous server instance and when another pirate sells it, it doesn't count.

So that restricts us also from Diving whether to a mission or to hourglass. Because there are huge chances of changing the server and loose the Gift ownership too. (IMHO: Diving mechanics broke the game)

So... with that in mind, Rare devs, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE modify the code to keep the items that are attached to achievements in which another pirate has to do something in the same server!... please!

Another possible solution I see is: Keep the ownershipUserId of this items to the original user to keep consistency when Diving. The Gift ownership should be kept even if they are not in the server. You might want to restrict it to the fact that the user is still connected to the game, probably.

Now is Gifts items, but if in the future you add other items, they should have the same behavior.

    Thanks in advanced!

  • Gifts would be a good use of map board use if they worked how you asked and kept ownership.

Ok I am ginding this at the moment. Here is what you do.

If you get the gift from sinking the BB, leave the sword there as well.

If you get it from a fort, go get a reaper chest from a ship wreak when it spawns. Leave that at reapers.

Players will see the sword or chest come over and sell them.

Unless they’re grinding it as well. In that case, the gift would just be left there for a very long time.

Not so, I rearly have to sail back to sell. There are up to five other ships and even ones gCurrently just need to do the generous gifts.

  • Sink FH and leave the sword and a gift at the reaper's hideout. This increases the chance that someone will come and sell it.

  • I feel you bro, I feel you. Trust me, I've fussed about this a lot. I've tried to leave gifts and reapers chests at reapers hideout only for people to sail over, sell the reaper chest and leave.

The Burning Blade is currently the best way to do it. Just board the ship, pick up the gifts and leave, and hopefully, someone else takes it over, and since you can only turn in at reapers, and if you scuttle you can only sell the sword at reapers, this is your best bet.

It would be nice if we saw a return of the Reaper's Gift voyages from 2021 (I think?), where you got Reapers Gifts, Athena Kegs, and a Ashen Winds Skull. Boy those were useful.
I swear, had I known what pain this would be, I would have spammed the voyage until the ship was full and intentionally sink to a reaper.

Other than that, not sure what else you can do, the main ways to fix this would make the gifts more available so you have more chances to give them away, or make a bigger incentive for people to sell them

I swear, I had two gifts at a fort, got sunk, came back, saw them sell at an outpost, raise reaper, and dive for hourglass, and when I reached the outpost, found both gifts still at soverns.

Maybe thats the main reason, that you NEED to sell them at reapers... And most people dont bother with the trip?

  • Not sure why these gifts are solely tied to the Reapers. Why not make them available to sell at any outpost? Also, why do we have to be on the server and wait for someone else to sell it to count?
