A few suggestions to improve on the Voyages.

  • These are the ideas I have on how to make the Company voyages in Sea of Thieves hopefully more interesting in people's eyes.

Gold Hoarder: Rather than digging up dozens of treasure chests on different islands, I think that instead, the players get to dig up a large stack of treasures. Imagine that you hit the shovel in the dirt, and then you dig up a big hole with lots of chests and trinkets in it rather than just one chest for each hole. Also, adding in secret treasure troves areas on each of the islands that players can find. Like a cave system that is hidden behind a large rock that you need to move or use some hidden mechanism to open.

Order of Souls: Now these are the voyages I gave the most thought on. I felt that something was needed to make these more exciting and what I came up with was the following.
Skeleton Captains having unique abilities to regular skeletons. A problem with the captains is that they are more or less the same as the other skeletons, just with more health and one passive ability. So what I thought was, for example, that Plant captains could entangle players with plant matter or seaweed. Gold captains could block a player's attack (even a pistol attack), and Shadow captains can dash with incredible speed around players quickly.
These would be a few of the abilities that the skeleton captains could be spawned with.

Also, I made this image as an example of another change I thought up:
    alt text

You would have the option to capture the skeleton captains alive or kill them and collect their skulls like normal. Now, where would they be when you catch them? In the brig of course (i feel that the brig doesn't do much for players as it just locks up a troll who ends up still taking a spot in the crew.) Also, that info about what they are wanted for is to show what type of skeletons you will face off in the captain's crew.
Here is all the info i thought up and what they mean:
    Pillaging: Normal skeletons
    Robbery: Gold skeletons
    Ravaging Nature: Plant skeletons
    Practicing Dark Magic: Shadow skeletons

Now when it comes to regular skeleton captains, they would be armed with unique weapons that have different abilities in them, like a blunderbuss that shots hot ink, a pistol that fires poisonous bullets. Ect.

And if your wondering, I did also think that you should be able to speak with a skeleton captain you have captured in the brig. Sometimes they will try to purchase themselves free by offering a map to treasure and other times they may give you some secrets about may be hidden in the world of Sea of Thieves.

Now we move to the Merchant Alliance voyages: Instead of just capturing three different animals, you could purchase the different exotic crates, boxes with planks, cannonballs or bananas or animal cages and then sell them on other islands. You could also take one of their quests that is more about transporting the products to one of the other outposts rather than animal capture, you would even get more gold for doing this as you would be hired by the Merchant Alliance to transport these products.

  • The problem with good suggestions for this game, is that there are already an endless supply of them, and none are being implemented.

  • @jeccckk They're probably focused on the bugs and QoL enhancements atm. Eventually they're going to run out of ideas for weekly events lol.

  • another thing that i forgot to add in. Skeletons with range weapons should be much easier to kill compared to close combat skeletons.

For most people, skeletons with pistols are far more difficult to fight compared to skeletons with swords or just their fists. So it would be for the best if they had lower health compared to the ones who fight players up close.

A great list of suggestions, mate.
These changes could be a way to introduce threats other than more bloody skeletons.
Natives could shoot poisoned darts through hollowed bamboo. As much as I loathe the snakes, the poison dart effect could be the same as snake venom.
Other darts could have symptoms such as blurred vision and a drunk stagger. It would be good to randomly mix all three dart types so you never know what to expect.
Headhunters and cannibals could throw spears or melee with wooden clubs and axes made of sharpened rock.

The Cargo Runs are close to that, certainly the last part.
