[Q]: What was your introduction to the world of games?
[A]: My dad introduced me to videogames. I remember watching him play Mega Man on the Nintendo. Me and my little brother started trying to beat the levels like our dad, but come on, that game was hard! We've been gaming together ever since.
[Q]: How did you become part of the Sea of Thieves community?
[A]: I was introduced to Sea of Thieves by one of my friends shortly after the game was launched, and fell in love. I began streaming it around the time of the Shrouded Spoils update. As the stream grew, I became more involved on social media and met a lot of amazing people. I love this community.
[Q]: How did creating content become your ‘thing’?
[A]: Once I discovered Twitch my life was changed forever! It quickly replaced television for me. It influenced me to switch to PC gaming and to start a stream of my own. Once I started streaming Sea of Thieves, everything just came together. I absolutely love it.
[Q]: How do you decide what kind of content to create?
[A]: Actually, I try not to decide. I hope for natural and organic experiences. I do my best not to plan anything in my head or think too much into it before going live. I try to let the content create itself.
[Q]: What are some of the challenges you’ve faced while creating content?
[A]: Finding time! Working full-time and streaming can be difficult to balance. It took a while for me to get a schedule figured out. Technical issues can also be a real bummer from time to time.
[Q]: What different channels do you have?
[A]: I stream on Twitch exclusively, but I also have a YouTube channel. Highlights from my streams can be found under the highlights section on my Twitch channel. My YouTube channel is new, but I keep videos posted there as well!
[Q]: What’s been your most memorable Sea of Thieves moment so far?
[A]: I was able to convince a pirate to help me steal from her own crew! It ended with a battle atop Galleon's Grave Outpost to defend our friendship. The video is on my YouTube channel titled "My Destiny".
[Q]: What do you enjoy most about the game now, and what are you looking forward to in future?
[A]: The possibilities are endless in Sea of Thieves. I never know what the next encounter will be, and I love that. I look forward to many more hilarious adventures.
[Q]: What’s something you’re particularly proud of accomplishing in gaming?
[A]: I don't have any fancy medals or awards. I'm not an outstanding gamer. But when someone tells me I made their day better or made them laugh, I feel very accomplished. And I can crank 90s.
[Q]: How did you come up with your channel name?
[A]: It's a nickname I acquired a long time ago. I made it my gamertag and here we are!
[Q]: What advice would you give to a new content creator?
[A]: Do it because you love it. Do it because you want to. Always have fun with what you’re playing/creating. Turn off the viewer count and don't focus on numbers. Be yourself.
[Q]: What’s one thing you would advise a content creator not to do?
[A]: Focusing too much on numbers can be discouraging and can affect your mood on stream. Hide those numbers and just enjoy yourself. Don't compare yourself to other creators.
[Q]: Could you give us one more random fact about yourself?
[A]: When I’m not streaming, I am working. I work full time as a registered nurse. I've been doing it for about five years now and I love it. I work in critical care.
That's all for today’s Creator Spotlight. Thank you to BoxyFresh for letting us look into his life as both a creator and a Sea of Thieves fan! We’re going to go now and hope that we don’t get convinced to betray our own crew.
