I know this probably gets asked a lot... subscription?

    I bought this on steam, and it requires an xbox live account... does this mean I need to be subscribed to xbox gold? Or just link my xbox account like I did here and I can play without a subscription fee?

    Ahoy there! No additional subscription is necessary, you just need an Xbox Live account to log into the game with.

    Just remember this going forward.

    All PC games no matter if they are released on Xbox do not require an Xbox live gold subscription. Just an Xbox live account.

    Example

    You own Sea of Thieves/ Forza Motorsport on Xbox and Microsoft store PC

    You want to play online via Xbox, then you need to have Xbox live gold!

    You decide to play on PC, it does not require Xbox live gold but does require to use the Xbox live profile that is linked to that game you own it on.

    Pc does not require Xbox live gold. It’s only valid if you are playing on a physical Xbox.
